Each One, Reach One

Last week's meeting was fun with Ilana Friedman, the Magical Moments lady.
Ilana came to collect a cheque of R10000 from New Dawn, something for which she was very, very grateful. This she showed by bestowing a bit of the fairy magic she normally saves for the kids, on the club meeting.
Afterwards she wrote a letter of thanks to Carol Stier, who is fast becoming one of the clubs' most active members, already running the website, the Facebook page, the twitter account and some more.
Thanks, Carol, and thanks also for taking over the arrangements for the Macsteel Carnival City Cycle Race at such short notice.
Ilana's letter, with a handful of wonderful photographs, reads:

Hello Carol

Immense gratitude for today. In so many ways that words would really not adequately describe.

After the breakfast, I flew past Little Gems preschool to extend thanks and to thank Rotary Club New Dawn for the generous gift of love and for believing in the “magic”. Thank you for the “fairy dust effect” – everyone who “got the fairy dust ball rolling”, the introduction to Magical Moments, from Marilyn, the teacher, to Lucille, her connection to Rotary and to all the decision makers who gifted Magical Moments.

Wow, what a big cheque you've got! Paul (stand-in
president) and Linda hand over R10000 to help Ilana
(middle) to spread more fairy magic

When the donation is reflected in our bank account, I will send through a thank you letter and some photographs from our events of the children.

Our website is unfortunately outdated and we post regular updates on social media - Facebook under ALBUMS. These albums capture the magical moments and Fairy Tales that we create for thousands of children. We also update on Instagram - @magicalmoments_sa and Twitter. All links are available via our website as well as the links in my signature below.

I look forward to creating more magnificent and memorable days, filled with magical moments - happy memories for children to treasure! A celebration of Life!

I would appreciate it if you would forward on this email to all Rotarians who were at the breakfast this morning, and as you wish.
We teach all the children to do “love, hugs & kisses”. And therein lies the secret. Pure. Unconditional. Love. A gift from the heart.

With love, hugs & kisses and magical wishes.

The kids at the Little Gems preschool in Emmarentia give a big smile for the New Dawn cheque. Little Gems is
run by Marilyn, sister of Lucille Blumberg.

That kind of gratitude is all the reward we need.
Last week's meeting was a business meeting and Ian was on hand to give feedback on the continuing discussions with The Link about accessing Rotary International funding. In the meantime, to show our hearts are in the right place, a number of members have volunteered to help The Link with reading sessions at schools.
An email has been sent out to give notice of a training session on Friday, 4 March at 9 am at 31 Crescent Drive, Westcliff. If you want to join in the mood of Each One Reach One (if I'm not mistaken Frayne coined the phrase at the meeting) and didn't get the email, please ask someone who did to forward it.
