In the swing of things

Sam and Joan Donet and Linda and Mike Vink with the Barrow of Booze.

The Barrow is filling up with booze, the raffle tickets sold well (R3040 on the first attempt!) and now we just need to get hold of more golfers.
Linda, Joan and Sam did sterling work outside Parkview Spar on Saturday for the Golf Day purse.
There's one more Saturday left before Friday 13th of November, and Linda is looking for volunteers to help her try to double that amount. Any volunteers please speak to her on Wednesday at the meeting.
Don't forget the meeting, where the inspirational Oliver Quambusch from Hotel Hope Ministries will be speaking to the club. He also promised to bring along a short video telling about the work Hotel Hope is doing and pitching a few new ideas on how he thinks the money pledged to Hotel Hope by the Rotary Club of Delft and our own club, can be best spent.
Another date to diarise is Sunday 22 November, for the Taste of Yeoville tour. It will start at about 4pm and last until just after dark. The exact details are still to be confirmed, but we'll have to start making a list of everyone who wants to join this unique Joburg experience.
Other dates to remember are next Monday's board meeting, and the DGs visit on 25 November.
     Spare a thought:
A Springbok stood at the Pearly Gate
His face was worn and old.
He meekly asked the Man of Fate
     Admission to the fold.
"What have you done," St. Peter asked, "to gain admission here?"
"I've played against the All Blacks, Sir, for many and many a year."
The gate swung slowly open as St. Peter pressed a bell.
"Come in and take a harp," said he. "You've had your share of hell."
