Rollator / Transport Chair Donation

The amazing network of people and Rotary.

Last week Rtn Jenine got a call from a gentleman in Ermelo by the name of Danie Terblanche. Not knowing who the man is he asked if she was a Rotarian and if she can help with a wheelchair. Jenine advised him to call PP Steve as he will be better suited to help.

The story goes like this; Danie was at his school reunion in Kimberly when one of his classmates told him about another classmate who is desperately in need of a wheelchair. After his return to Ermelo he started calling to asses the situation. He talked to someone in Krugersdorp (where the needy classmate Peet lives) and got Jenine's number. From there he called Steve and on Saturday Steve and Jenine delivered a Rollator / Transport Chair to Peet in Krugersdorp on behalf of the club.

Peet cannot use his left hand as the arm is not functional. His left leg is also dragging and impairs his mobility. With Peet in the new chair trying out his new mode of transportation in the flat, the classmates started calling. It is amazing how people from all walks of life came together in aid of one family.

The true Rotary spirit, from Kimberly via Ermelo and Krugersdorp to Johannesburg and a chair. Blessings to all the classmates who took it upon themselves to assist a friend in need.
