With Passion and Enthusiasm

If you have a degree or qualification in accounting but can't find a job, who do you turn to?
Have a banking qualification and ditto, no matter how hard you try and how many CVs you submit, you're just never the chosen one? Who can help?
The Guarantee Trust can and does. That was the message of Amanda Mkhize atlas week's meeting. Amanda addressed the club on short notice and will hopefully be able to get her message across to more Rotary clubs in future.

Amanda Mkhize of the Guarantee Trust explains how the organization helps graduates get jobs
Amanda, newly appointed to do public relations work for the Trust said almost everybody who approaches them and undergoes training, gets placed in a job.
The trust was set up to help Historically Disadvantaged Individuals enter the formal sector. Read more about this wonderful organization  at www.guarantee.co.za.
Although the presentation equipment let us down once more, Amanda more than made up with her enthusiasm and passion.
Trust Sibanda prepares a wall for painting at the 5 Cees
A lot of enthusiasm and passion is also going into the repainting of the Christ Church Christian Care Centre's building on Louis Botha Avenue in Berea, for which New Dawn has donated 20 x 20 liter drums of paint. Three colors are being used: Dulux Weatherguard Toscana and Moroccan Gold, and Plascon Micatex Lions Den.

The building housing the home is an old hotel that was subsequently used as a residential hotel and then fell into disrepair before the Christ Church of Hillbrow bought it with funding from America and other places. It dates from the early 1900s and is in bad need of repair.
A fresh coat of paint is only one of the urgent needs, along with the electricity, water and heating requirements.
Pastor Mike Sunker says he'll welcome it if New Dawn wants to put up a sign saying the club donated the paint. He thanked us once again for the donation.
The Hyundai was being decorated with the Rotary logo last week, and should be ready for delivery to Hotel Hope Ministries very soon, if it has not taken place yet.
Some dates to remember: My induction will be on Friday, 1 July at Twickenham Guest House. A new date to remember is the Golf Day on Friday, 30 September. Start asking your golfing friends and family to enter as soon as possible! The cheese dinner at the Cheese Gourmet in Linden is on 15 July, also a Friday. Details to follow.
