Inductions

The Induction of our new President Jankees Sligcher and his wife Judy as our newest Rotarian.  The event was attended by the current DG David Grant, IPDG, Annie Steijn, DGR Steve Margo and Ag Jean Bernardo. Our previous AG, (now DGR) Ferdi Heyneke was also present. Ronnie Kasrils and wife PP Amina Frense had some time off to join the function as well.

Judy was inducted by DG David Grant and it also marked the first year Nigeria is Polio Free. Congratulations Jankees, may your year as president be another stepping stone in your Rotary career. Judy, welcome to the Rotary family, we hope you will have loads of fun and fond memories as a Rotarian and soon to be District 9400 DGA (District Governor Ann)

Awards

Apart from the inductions a few members received awards. Linda Vink for Outstanding Achievement, She is unequaled as a fundraiser for the Club and deserving of this award. Mike Vink for his continuations service as treasurer of the Club received a Certificate of Appreciation. Prof Lucille Blumberg received the club "Service Above Self" award for all the support she so effortlessly give to communities.

Paul Harris Recognitions

President Jankees Sligcher and Immediate Past President Steve du Plessis received a Paul Harris Recognition, from IPDG (Immediate Past District Governor) Annie Steijn. 

Pres Jankees is serving this year as President of the RC of Johannesburg New Dawn, DGR (District Governor Representative) for Region 9, RFHD Coordinator for the same region and DGN (District Governor Nominee) for District 9400.

Immediate Past President Steve is serving as IPP for RC of Johannesburg New Dawn, District Chair: Electronic Media Committee, Vice Chair RFHD Steering Committe D9400 and Assistant RPIC (Rotary International Public Image Coordinator) Zone 20A (South)

A big thank you to Mike and Linda Vink who sponsored the venue and I am sure all who attended will agree, the food was exceptional and the fellowship even better. Thanks to Linda for all the pictures in this blog, without them there was no real story to tell.

Also a big thank you to Graham Donet who did an excellent job as MC. Graham, if you ever need something else to do, this is it. You are a super MC and one of the best because of your personal touch!
