I know that Steve Du Plessis also took some cell phone shots and I'll put those on when I receive them.
We arrived later after raiding the Exclusive Books' Sale. Calvin was also there. I must sincerely thank Rotary for curtailing my buying and saving me money....until I returned on Saturday.
The evening was a lot of fun as we were joined by Ivan Balondemu, Manager User Support of the Bank of Uganda who is a member of the Rotary Club of Kampala. Two of his colleagues also joined us. I hope we see them all again.
Under normal circumstances this week's meeting should be a Business Meeting but our new President is overseas for a couple of weeks....so is half the Club!........so we have a guest speaker. He's not really a guest at all as it is a long postponed talk by one of our members, Gidon Judes, on "Space On Line". Gidon has recently been made a director of his company, Cytrus. Congratulations Gidon!
Cytrus is a very busy software development company and this is a picture of Gidon hard at work.
Remember the dinner to meet the new District Governor at the Country Club Johannesburg on Thursday 14th July. Please let me know if you are attending as soon as possible. So far only 3 seem to be going, Don Lindsay and Graham & Joan Donet. It is really something we should try to go to. Unfortunately I am speaking to the Military History Society that evening otherwise I would have definitely gone.
The reason that most of this month's meetings are "don't know" is because I didn't know what was supposed to be happening this month and whether I would still be organising speakers. I am; so hopefully things will be a little clearer next week.
Here is a video profiling the RI President for 2011/12, Kaylan Banerjee:
